FG to Settle Outstanding Wage Awards by Mid-August

The Federal Government has committed to paying outstanding wage awards to public servants before the middle of August, as stated by the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Taiwo Oyedele. This assurance was made during a meeting with the Joint Public Service Negotiating Council (JPSNC), Trade Side, led by National President Comrade Kabiru Ado Minjibir.

The Minister indicated that the government has already begun addressing several issues raised by the Council and emphasized the administration's dedication to resolving legitimate labor concerns through constructive engagement. Oyedele confirmed that the necessary release for the wage award payment is being finalized and expressed confidence that eligible public servants would receive their payments soon.

Additionally, he assured that promotion arrears are being processed according to established procedures. The Minister directed officials to review documents presented by the Council and accelerate actions on outstanding matters.

The Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Finance, Raymond Omachi, reiterated the Ministry's commitment to ensuring timely processing of workers' entitlements.
