Nasarawa Student Arrested for Dumping Newborn in Bush

A final year student in Nasarawa state was arrested for dumping her newborn baby in a bush in Akwanga Local Government Area. The baby was found wrapped in a cloth near a primary school by residents who alerted the police.

The suspect, an NCE student at College Akwanga, sparked outrage among residents. This incident follows a similar case in July where a farmer rescued a newborn baby girl buried alive in Dandi Local Government Area.

The police have transferred the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department for thorough investigation and prosecution.
