Five Nations Compete for N12m at Zen Archery Tournament

The Zen Archery International tournament will take place from June 18 to June 21, 2026, at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos, with a total prize pool of N12 million. The tournament will feature competitors from Nigeria, Guinea, Zimbabwe, Ivory Coast, and Chad, with approximately 100 athletes expected to participate across eight categories, including recurve, compound, and barebow divisions for both men and women.

The event is organized by the Zen Archery Club in partnership with the Lagos State Sport Commission. Aderonk Aderinoy, the tournament's chairman, emphasized the growth of international participation in archery, reflecting the increasing appetite among African nations to compete together.

Emmanuel Oyelek, founder of Zen Archery, described the tournament as part of a broader vision to position Lagos as a sports hub. The event aims to foster unity across tribes and enhance relationships among African nations.

Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Lagos State governor, expressed support for the tournament, which aims to build a competitive platform for talent discovery and youth development.
