Super Eagles Striker Michael Eneramo Passes Away at 40

Michael Eneramo, a former striker for the Super Eagles of Nigeria, tragically passed away at the age of 40 after collapsing during a local friendly match in Kaduna. Reports indicate that he suffered a cardiac arrest shortly after the game resumed in the first half.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), represented by the new General Secretary Moham Sanusi, expressed shock and sympathy over his untimely demise. Eneramo built a strong reputation in football, particularly in Tunisia and Turkey, where he was widely admired for his powerful finishing.

He played for several clubs, including USM Alger and Sivasspor, and was honored on social media by various teams, including Galatasaray and Istanbulspor. Eneramo earned 10 caps for the Super Eagles, making his debut against Jamaica in London in 2009 and scoring his first international goal against the Republic of Ireland later that year.

He also featured in World Cup qualifiers, notably scoring a memorable goal in a 2-2 draw against Kenya in Abuja.
