Former Jigawa Lawmaker Resigns from APC Over Bias

Musa Sule Duts, a former member of the Jigawa State House of Assembly representing the Duts constituency, announced his resignation from the All Progressives Congress (APC) on July 15, 2026. In his resignation letter addressed to the APC chairman of Kachi Ward in Dutsinma Local Government Area, Duts cited allegations of injustice and bias within the party's reconciliation process.

He described the conduct of the reconciliation committee as unjustifiable and deceitful, claiming it sidelined certain aspirants and characterized the process as intimidation. Duts maintained that the committee failed to carry out its assigned role fairly and questioned its actions.

He expressed that despite being a founding member of the APC in Jigawa State, he could no longer remain in the party due to the perceived undesirable conduct of the reconciliation committee.
