Four Die in Ogun State Road Crash Involving Bus and Truck

On Monday, around 11:16 PM, a fatal road crash occurred on the Ijebu Imushin axis of the Ijebu Ode Expressway in Ogun State, resulting in the deaths of four individuals. The crash involved a white Toyota Hiace bus with registration number BDJ 482 XC and a blue MAN diesel truck belonging to Julius Berger Nigeria PLC, with registration number RSH 969 XC.

Afolabi Odunsi Oyewol, a spokesperson for the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun State, reported that the crash was caused by excessive speed. The truck was stationary after its tow chain snapped when the Toyota Hiace subsequently collided with it.

All four occupants of the bus, comprising two adult males and two adult females, sustained fatal injuries and were confirmed dead at the scene, with no survivors. The FRSC noted that rescue operations arrived within eight minutes of the distress call, and the victims were evacuated to the mortuary at Ijebu Ode State Hospital.

The Ogun State FRSC sector command urged motorists to adhere strictly to speed limits, especially during night travel, to prevent such tragedies.
