Four Women Die in Anambra Multiple Vehicle Crash

A tragic road accident occurred on Friday night, February 27, 2026, on the Agulu Lake Nanka road in Anambra State, resulting in the deaths of four women and injuries to nine others. Eyewitnesses reported that the victims were returning from a burial ceremony when the driver of a vehicle lost control while descending a narrow bridge, leading to a crash involving multiple vehicles.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) confirmed that the crash involved four vehicles: a Toyota Hiace, a trailer, a shuttle bus, and a Toyota Hilux. The accident took place around 7 PM, and the FRSC reported a total of 19 individuals were involved, including six male adults, ten female adults, and three male children.

The injured were taken to St. Joseph Hospital in Adazi for treatment, while the bodies of the deceased were deposited in the hospital morgue.

FRSC officials urged motorists to prioritize safety to prevent such tragedies.
