FRSC and Beer Sector Group Partner for Road Safety

On a significant occasion in Abuja, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and the Beer Sector Group signed a five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to eliminate drink-driving and promote responsible alcohol consumption among drivers in Nigeria. The agreement aims to intensify nationwide campaigns and public education targeting interventions against drink-driving, which is a major cause of road carnage in the country.

The pact was signed by FRSC Corp Marshal Shehu Moham and Beer Sector Group Chairman Thibaut Boidin at the FRSC national headquarters. The collaboration seeks to dismantle the culture of drinking and driving, ensuring that every Nigerian understands the importance of drinking responsibly and not driving under the influence.

The partnership is expected to leverage resources from both sectors to enhance road safety, with the success of the initiative being monitored over the next five years. Notable attendees included Girish Sharma, CEO of Guinness Nigeria PLC, and Nichola Kade from International Breweries PLC.
