FRSC Launches Traffic Management Initiative in Niger State

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has launched an urgent intervention to tackle severe traffic gridlock along the Bida–Kutigi corridor in Niger State. This initiative follows a directive from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and aims to alleviate the difficulties faced by motorists and transport operators due to prolonged road obstructions.

The FRSC, in collaboration with the Presidency and the Federal Ministry of Works, held a high-level meeting involving key officials, including Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed and Minister of State for Works Bello Muhammad Goronyo. The FRSC has deployed personnel to manage traffic and reported significant blockages along the Bida–Badeggi–Agaie road and the Maje–Diko Junction axis, which have persisted for approximately 15 days.

Additionally, the Corps clarified that no formal appointment letters have been issued in the ongoing 2026 recruitment exercise, emphasizing that candidates must complete necessary training and processes before being considered for recruitment.
