Gombe Man Arrested for Assaulting and Robbing Girlfriend

Musa Adamu, a 35-year-old man, was arrested by the Gombe State Police Command for allegedly assaulting and robbing his girlfriend of ₦100,000. The incident took place in the early hours of June 9, 2026, at the victim's residence in Riyal Quarter.

According to DSP Buhari Abdullahi, the victim reported that Adamu unlawfully accessed her home by scaling a fence and forcefully breaking into her room. He allegedly attacked her with an iron hammer, attempted to strangle her with a USB cable, and robbed her of ₦100,000.

After the victim raised an alarm, Adamu fled the scene. The victim sustained serious injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Police operations led to Adamu's arrest at 9:45 AM on the same day, where they recovered the iron hammer, which had blood stains, and the USB cable believed to have been used in the attack. Preliminary investigations revealed that Adamu had previously requested money from the victim, a businesswoman, which she had declined.

He remains in police custody as investigations continue.
