Security Foils Armed Robbery at Ogbomoso Substation

On Sunday, the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) reported that security personnel foiled an armed robbery attempt at the Ogbomoso transmission substation. The incident occurred late Saturday night and into the early hours of Sunday.
According to Mr. Ndidi Mbah, TCN's General Manager of Public Affairs, preliminary reports indicated that armed men gained unauthorized access to the substation by scaling the perimeter fence and breaking in near the gate.
The intruders attempted to attack the gatehouse but were repelled by vigilant security personnel on duty, who fired warning shots, forcing the attackers to retreat. During their escape, the suspects abandoned tools and personal items near the fence.
An early morning inspection revealed additional abandoned equipment believed to belong to the intruders, along with traces of blood and footprints leading away from the scene. TCN is collaborating with relevant security agencies to investigate the incident and prevent future occurrences.
No personnel were injured during the incident.
