Ondo Farmers Kidnapped, N100m Ransom Demanded

Two farmers were abducted on Monday while working on their farms in Parubber Community, located in the Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State. The kidnappers have demanded a ransom of N100 million for their release, contacting the wife of one of the victims to pressure the family for payment.

The Ondo State Police Command confirmed the incident on Friday, stating that they have commenced a search-and-rescue operation to secure the victims. Police Public Relations Officer Jimoh Abayomi reported that a joint security team, which includes police operatives, the Anti-Kidnapping Squad, Amotekun personnel, local hunters, and vigilantes, has launched a coordinated effort to rescue the victims unharmed and apprehend the abductors.

The PPRO urged community residents to remain calm and provide credible information to assist in the rescue operation.
