Seyi Makinde Promises to Reset Nigeria in Four Years

Seyi Makinde, the presidential candidate of the Allied People Movement (APM) and current governor of Oyo State, announced his commitment to reset Nigeria within four years if elected president in 2027. Speaking at the North Central Town Hall meeting in Lafia, Nasarawa State, on Monday, he described himself as a "re-setter" and outlined a reset agenda that would address security, education, the economy, and the socio-political environment.

Makinde emphasized that this agenda could be accomplished in one term, referencing a past leader who ended military rule in just ten months. He proposed a transitional government of national unity to introduce new players and a fresh agenda for sustainable development.

Makinde expressed gratitude to Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule for the warm welcome and asserted that the 2027 election would be determined by the Nigerian populace rather than wealthy individuals or pollsters. He underscored the importance of energy in governance, citing his busy travel schedule as evidence of his commitment.
