INEC to Distribute New PVCs in Oyo State Starting October 9

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Oyo State will begin the distribution of newly printed Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) on October 9. This initiative, announced by the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Professor Adeniran Tella, will take place across all 33 Local Government Area offices in the state.

The distribution will occur daily from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, excluding weekends and public holidays. The PVCs are intended for newly registered voters, individuals who have transferred their polling units, and those whose PVCs were lost or damaged during the last Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise.

Professor Tella emphasized that the collection of PVCs must be personal and cannot be done by proxy. He also mentioned that security arrangements have been made to ensure the process is transparent and orderly.

Additionally, he urged eligible registrants to collect their PVCs promptly, as there remains a significant number of uncollected old PVCs from the 2023 General Election in the state.
