INEC schedules Zamfara supplementary polls for Aug 21

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has scheduled a supplementary election in five polling units in Zamfara's Kaura Namoda South State Assembly constituency for August 21. This decision was announced by INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner Dr.

Mahmmud Isah during a stakeholder meeting in Gusau. The supplementary election is being held due to the cancellation of results in these polling units following alleged irregularities.

The affected polling units include Kyambarawa, Sakajiki, Shiyar Magaji, Kofar Hamza, Tukasu Sabuwar Kasuwa, Kofar Fafa, Shiyar Fada, Alko Shiyar Kudu, and Shiyar Nufawa Kofar MD Nuhu. The cancellation was based on the number of PVCs collected and the margin between the APC and PDP candidates.

INEC cited relevant sections of the Electoral Act as the reason for declaring the election inconclusive.
