INEC warns against underage, multiple registration in Bauchi

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has issued a warning to residents of Bauchi State against engaging in underage and multiple voter registration, as well as collecting Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) through proxies. The warning, which was issued by the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) Umar Ibrahim during a press briefing, emphasized that such actions are serious electoral offenses that carry stiff penalties under the Electoral Act 2022.

The ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise is part of preparations for the 2023 general elections, with the aim of ensuring that all qualified voters are properly registered. The REC urged eligible voters in Bauchi State to take advantage of the opportunity to register, update their information, transfer their registration, or replace missing or damaged PVCs.
