Infrastructure Projects in Benue to Create 2,000 Jobs

The federal government announced that ongoing infrastructure projects in Benue State aim to boost trade, reduce transportation bottlenecks, and create 2,000 jobs. This announcement was made during an inspection by the Presidential Communications Team and the Renewed Hope Ambassadors on a Friday.

The inspection included the Lafia Bypass and the dualisation of the Makurdi-Ninth Mile Road. Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, noted that the dualisation of the Makurdi-Otukpo-Enugu Road has reduced travel time from about three hours to approximately 90 minutes.

He praised the project for improving connectivity and facilitating the movement of goods. Frederick Nwabufo, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Engagement, emphasized the visible impact of the Renewed Hope Agenda through these projects.

Mukaila Danladi, Federal Controller of Works in Benue State, stated that the Makurdi-Ninth Mile Road project spans 250 kilometres and is divided into five sections, with 86 kilometres completed to binder-course level.
