ISIS Claims Responsibility for Deadly Attack in Adamawa

The extremist group ISIS has claimed responsibility for an attack in Adamawa State, Nigeria, that left at least 29 people dead during a football match. The incident occurred in the Guyaku Telabala community within the Gombi Local Government Area.

Reports indicate that the assailants struck early in the evening, around 5 PM, opening fire on spectators and players, which led to widespread panic. Eyewitness accounts describe the gunmen invading the community and shooting sporadically, resulting in the deaths of two individuals and the burning of huts and properties.

The attack reportedly destroyed houses and religious buildings, leaving parts of the community in ruins. Survivors fled the area, and families mourned the loss of their loved ones.

The Adamawa State government has expressed its commitment to collaborating with military and security agencies to ensure the protection of the affected communities.
