ISWAP Kills Nigerian Army Major in Borno Ambush

Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) militants ambushed a Nigerian Army Major and his team in Damasak, Borno State. The Major was killed during the attack, which also resulted in the dispersal of soldiers.

Initial reports suggested the Major was captured, but security sources later confirmed his death during the ambush. The incident occurred during a foot patrol involving 30 soldiers, with 22 initially unaccounted for, including the commanding officer.

The soldiers were attacked by insurgents, leading to a deadly confrontation.
