Wike Warns Abuja Hotels on Hosting Political Events

Nyesom Wike, the Federal Capital Territory Minister, issued a warning to hotel owners and event centers in Abuja on Friday, emphasizing that they must only host events organized by political parties recognized by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). This directive aims to strengthen security in the nation's capital.

Wike stated that facilities hosting illegal organizations risk losing their land titles. The statement, communicated through his media aide Lere Olayinka, highlighted the need for hotels and public buildings to maintain proper records of transactions and verify the legality of organizations seeking to use their premises.

The administration will closely monitor these venues to prevent gatherings that could threaten public peace. Failure to comply with these directives will result in the revocation of title documents for properties involved in illegal gatherings.
