Kaduna State Achieves 2.57 Million School Enrolment
Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State announced that school enrolment in the state has reached 2.57 million in 2025. This announcement was made through his deputy, Dr Hadiza Balarabe, during the close-out event of the UK-funded Partnership for Learning for All in Nigerian Education (PLANE) programme.
Sani emphasized the state government's commitment to expanding access to education, ensuring that more children have the opportunity to acquire basic education. He urged other state governments to maintain the progress achieved under PLANE, warning that the programme's closure should not reverse advancements in education.
Sani noted that PLANE has significantly contributed to improving access to education, especially for vulnerable children and those affected by emergencies. The British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Pete Vowles, stated that PLANE has reached over two million children and trained more than 25,000 teachers and facilitators across northern Nigeria since its launch in 2019, strengthening education policies and systems at both federal and state levels.
