Kano State Government Launches Energy and SME Park Initiative
The Kano State Government has approved a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) for the development of the Kano Energy and SME Industrial Park at the AKK Industrial Layout in Tamburawa. This initiative, disclosed by Kano State Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Ibrahim Wayya, is intended to create an enabling environment for energy-related businesses and small and medium-scale enterprises (SMEs) to leverage the benefits of the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano (AKK) pipeline project.
The approval came after the 41st Executive Council meeting held last Thursday in Abuja. Additionally, the council sanctioned the acquisition of properties for overriding public interest, including Saymays Specialist Hospital and another private property near the Infectious Diseases Hospital and Abubakar Imam Urology Centre.
A total of N144.006 billion was allocated for various projects, with N84.9 billion designated for the Ministry of Works for road construction and rehabilitation. The council also approved ₦8.88 billion for Hajj Camp Road reconstruction and ₦435 million for operational vehicles for the Hisbah Board.
