Kano Government Lauds DSS for Rescuing Kidnapped Official

The Kano State government praised the Department of State Services (DSS) for the successful rescue of Alhaji Hamza Durya, the secretary of Kibiya Local Government Area, who was kidnapped by gunmen demanding a ransom of N100 million. The incident occurred at Durya's residence in Kibiya, and the DSS mobilized immediately to ensure his safe return.

The operation, which resulted in the arrest of two suspects who sustained bullet wounds, was described as a significant breakthrough by the state government. The statement, signed by Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, emphasized the dedication and professionalism of the DSS in safeguarding lives and property.

Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf commended the DSS for their prompt response and reaffirmed the government's commitment to maintaining peace and security in the state. He urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the nearest security outfits to enhance overall security.
