Kano Government Lauds DSS for Rescuing Kidnapped Official

The Kano State government has praised the Department of State Services (DSS) for the successful rescue of Alhaji Hamza Durya, the secretary of Kibiya Local Government Area, who was kidnapped from his residence a few days prior. The kidnappers had demanded a ransom of N100 million.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the government described Durya's rescue as a significant breakthrough, emphasizing the swift and coordinated operation by the DSS. The operation not only led to the safe recovery of Durya but also resulted in the arrest of two suspects, who sustained bullet wounds during the operation.

Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf expressed appreciation for the DSS's prompt response and unwavering commitment to safeguarding lives and property in the state. The government reiterated its dedication to maintaining peace and security, urging the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the nearest security outfit.
