Katsina State Government Allocates N31m for Early Education

The Katsina State Government has approved N31 million for the training of 100 early childhood education teachers and the procurement of learning materials to strengthen Early Childhood Care, Development and Education (ECCDE) across the state. Dr. Kabir Magaji, the Executive Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), stated that this initiative is part of Governor Dikko Umaru Radda's administration efforts to revamp childhood education.

The training is set to commence within two weeks, with procurement of materials following the completion of necessary processes by the state’s Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP). Additionally, SUBEB has established a dedicated Early Child Education and Special Programmes Department to focus on early childhood education and special education needs.

Six ECCDE centres were constructed in 2024 and nine more in 2025 to provide child-friendly learning environments, equipped with essential facilities. Magaji expressed optimism that the N31 million approval would be fully implemented, citing successful previous approvals under the current administration.
