Senator Maidoki Resigns from APC Before Primaries

Senator Garba Musa Maidoki, representing Kebbi South Senatorial District, has officially resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the party prepares for its senatorial primary elections scheduled for Monday. Maidoki submitted his resignation letter on May 14, 2026, addressed to the APC ward chairman of Rafin Zuru Ward in Zuru Local Government Area, Kebbi State.

In his letter, he cited persistent internal crises within the party as a significant factor influencing his decision, expressing concerns that these issues pose serious challenges to political aspirations. Maidoki acknowledged the opportunities provided by the APC during his tenure as a lawmaker and noted his current role as the chairman of the Senate Committee on Legislative Compliance and vice chairman of another Senate committee.

His resignation comes amid heightened political tensions and speculation regarding potential realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections.
