Kwara APC Elders Caucus Rejects Reconciliation Committee Invite

The elders caucus of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State has formally declined an invitation from the reconciliation committee, which was constituted by Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq to resolve intra-party crises triggered by recent party primaries. The committee, led by Colonel Abdulwahab Lawal (retd), had requested an interactive session on July 11, 2026.

The elders caucus acknowledged receipt of the invitation but expressed regret in their response, stating they would not be able to honor it. They noted that despite their efforts to reconcile within the party, the state executive committee of the APC rejected a formal letter regarding the matter.

The elders caucus further alleged that various letters written to the governor and the state party chairman regarding the issues were ignored. They emphasized their loyalty to the APC and referenced the principle that one cannot judge their own case, indicating that the current crisis is beyond the committee's scope.
