Kwara Zakat Body Launches Women Wing for Charity Efforts

The Kwara Zakat Body announced the establishment of a Women Wing during its 2026 annual Ramadan lecture held at its secretariat in Ilorin. The chairman of the Majli, Engr Saad Belgor, described the creation of the Women Wing as a significant milestone in the organization's growth.

The initiative received blessings from the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu Gambari, who noted that the wing represents a major step in the organization's evolution. The chairperson of the Women Wing, Hajia Fatimah Abdulkadir, expressed confidence in the group's potential to achieve greater progress through structured coordination across the state.

The Women Wing aims to mobilize support for poverty alleviation and social welfare interventions, with a focus on zakat, sadaqah, and waqf. The event featured a lecture by Imam Abdulrafii Olodu, emphasizing the importance of charity in addressing unemployment and poverty.

Local leaders reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing grassroots mobilization and improving the collection and distribution of charitable funds.
