Lagos State Arraigns Over 100 Suspects for Disturbances

The Lagos State Government arraigned over 100 suspects before the Lagos State Special Offences Mobile Court in Bolade, Oshodi, for alleged breaches of public peace and other offenses in the Victoria Island, Lekki, and Ajah areas. The prosecution, led by Oluwabusola Omotunde on behalf of the Lagos State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, stated that the defendants were arrested between 2 am and 4 am on Friday, September 4, 2026.

Charges included breach of peace and unlawful conversion of government property to personal use. During the proceedings, Chief Magistrate F.J.

Adefioye emphasized the importance of deterrence and due process. Defendants who pleaded guilty were sentenced to one and two months of community service or imprisonment, respectively, with sentences running consecutively.

Those who pleaded not guilty were remanded and granted bail with two sureties each. Coordinator Olufemi Adekunle affirmed the government's commitment to maintaining law and order and announced that similar Mobile Court sittings would continue across the state.
