Lagos Ministry Denies Viral Traffic Restriction Claims

The Lagos State Ministry of Transport has officially dismissed a viral message circulating on social media that alleged new traffic restrictions around the Sheraton Link Bridge inward Opebi Road in Ikeja. The ministry described the claims as false and misleading, stating that there have been no changes to existing traffic rules affecting the area.

Oluwaseun Osiyemi, the Commissioner for Transport, urged motorists to disregard the misinformation and rely on verified government channels for traffic updates. The ministry emphasized that the current traffic flow rules remain in place until further notice and reassured residents that no task force officials are stationed in the area to harass or extort motorists, countering claims made in the viral message.

The ministry's statement came in response to alarmist language used in the message, which had sparked confusion among road users.
