Lagos Police Crack Down on Officers in Commercial Vehicles

Mr. Fatai Tijani, the Commissioner of Police for the Lagos State Command, announced a crackdown on security personnel found driving commercial vehicles while in uniform, labeling the practice detrimental to the professionalism and image of security agencies.

This directive was issued on Friday at the command headquarters in Ikeja. Tijani highlighted that many individuals seen in security uniforms engaging in commercial activities are not serving police officers but rather dismissed personnel or impersonators.

He reiterated the importance of maintaining the integrity of security services and stated that fresh directives would be issued to divisional police officers to arrest anyone illegally wearing police uniforms or violating this directive. Tijani also urged residents to report such individuals to the police, assuring that all reports would be investigated promptly.
