Lagos Police Arrest Suspected Robber with Human Hand

On Thursday, during a routine stop-and-search operation along the Lekki-Epe Expressway, the Lagos State Police Command arrested a 21-year-old suspect named Samson Onilewaji. He was apprehended while traveling in an unregistered commercial shuttle with six occupants.

A police search of the vehicle led to the recovery of a human right hand, two locally made pistols with live cartridges, two axes, five automated teller machine (ATM) cards, and other stolen items. The discovery of the human hand has sparked fresh concerns regarding ritual-related crimes in Lagos.

During interrogation, Onilewaji confessed to recently robbing three individuals, which included the recovery of ATM cards belonging to the victims. The police are working to identify the owner of the human body part and ascertain its intended use.

The Lagos State Police Command, led by CP Tijani Olaiwola Fatai, remains committed to combating violent crime and urges the public to report any suspicious activities.
