LAMATA Secures Community Support for Ketu Terminal Redevelopment

The Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) has received backing from community leaders for the redevelopment of the Ketu terminal, which is part of efforts to ease congestion and enhance the commuting experience along the Ketu-Alaper-Akanimodo transport corridor. A statement disclosed that during a stakeholder meeting, local leaders and government officials reached an agreement to support the project, which aims to transform Ketu into a world-class modern bus terminal.

The initiative is designed to eliminate traffic bottlenecks and provide a dignified environment for thousands of commuters who use the route daily. The meeting included traditional political leaders, led by Oba Ketu Kosof Isiaka Adio Balogun, and representatives from the Agboyi Ketu Local Council Development Area.

Femi Fayombo, a contractor, was also present as preparations to mobilize at the terminal site began. The state government has expanded the project scope to improve the quality of life and transport efficiency within Ketu, emphasizing cooperation with residents to ensure smooth execution.
