LAMATA Transforms Ketu Lay-By into Modern Bus Terminal

The Lagos State Government's Lagos State Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) has achieved stakeholder buy-in for the transformation of Ketu Lay-By into a modern bus terminal. This initiative is part of the state's broader effort to overhaul public transport infrastructure.

A high-level engagement involved community leaders, government officials, transport operators, and market representatives. The project, which is a critical component of the Ketu-Alaper-Akanimodo corridor design, aims to address persistent traffic bottlenecks and provide a safer commuting environment for thousands of residents.

Engr Olufemi Fayombo, LAMATA's Deputy Director of Road Infrastructure, explained that the initiative seeks to bridge mobility gaps and connect inner communities to major transport corridors. The project is expected to be completed within 14 months, with contractors anticipated to move to the site within days.

Stakeholder engagement is emphasized as vital for the project's success, ensuring local participation and ownership.
