LAMATA Approves Ketu Modern Bus Terminal Project

The Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) has secured approval for the Ketu modern bus terminal project, which is part of the broader Lagos strategic transport master plan. This project aims to transform the Ketu-Lai Demurin corridor into a world-class modern bus terminal, enhancing the quality of life and transport efficiency in the area.

High-level engagements were conducted with community leaders, including Dr. Oba Isiaka Balogun, the local government vice chairman Ganiu Fatai, and other dignitaries.

The project is expected to eliminate traffic bottlenecks and provide a dignified environment for thousands of commuters. The operational framework emphasizes mutual agreements between the government and the community, with formal commitments anticipated to ensure market women and traders vacate road shoulders to prevent obstructions.

The project will adhere to strict design and operational guidelines to prevent a return to gridlock, ultimately integrating bus, rail, and water transport systems within the urban mobility network.
