Maduka Okoye Out of Nigeria's Friendly Against Jordan

Maduka Okoye, the 26-year-old goalkeeper for the Super Eagles, will miss the international friendly match against Jordan due to a thigh injury sustained during training. The injury was confirmed by the Super Eagles' media officer on March 30, 2026.

Okoye was initially set to start the match on March 31, but head coach Ric Chell has decided to field Franci Uzoho from Omonia Nicosia in his place. Okoye's withdrawal adds to a list of players who have left the camp due to injuries, including Calvin Bassey, Semi Ajayi, and Bruno Onyemaechi.

Additionally, Ajayi and Onyemaechi were granted leave following the birth of a daughter. The friendly match against Jordan is scheduled to take place at Corendon Airlines Park at 6:30 PM on March 31, 2026, as the three-time African champions aim to build on their recent victory.
