Nigeria's 23-Man Squad for Four-Nation Tournament Announced

Eric Chelle, the current coach of the Nigerian national football team, has announced a squad of 23 players for an upcoming four-nation friendly tournament scheduled to take place in Jordan. Notably, goalkeeper Nwabali has been replaced by Maduka Okoye, who returns to the squad after a period away.

The tournament will see Nigeria compete against Iran on March 27, 2025, and Jordan on March 31, 2025. The absence of Victor Osimhen and Ama Obasogi has been noted, with Osimhen's absence attributed to his current club situation.

Paul Onuachu is expected to lead the attack in Osimhen's absence, having scored in eight consecutive matches in the Turkish league. The squad includes players from various clubs across Europe, including Calvin Bassey, Wilfred Ndidi, and Ademola Lookman, among others.

This tournament serves as a preparation for the upcoming AFCON 2025.
