MDCN Warns Doctors Against Practicing Without Certification

The Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN), represented by Registrar Prof. Fatima Kyari, issued a warning to medical practitioners regarding the necessity of holding full registration certification to practice legally.

During the oath-taking ceremony for 35 newly inducted medical professionals at Gregori University, Uturu, Kyari emphasized that practicing without a valid registration certificate constitutes a criminal offense. She urged practitioners to ensure their certifications are up-to-date and to report any misconduct within the medical profession.

The council will conduct thorough investigations into any reported infractions, and if no case is established, the accused will be acquitted. However, serious violations could lead to sanctions, including suspension or complete removal from the register, preventing individuals from practicing medicine globally.

The MDCN aims to maintain high standards in the medical profession and protect patient welfare.
