Molde FK's Daniel Daga Sentenced to Six Months in Prison

Daniel Daga, a 19-year-old midfielder for Molde FK, was sentenced to six months in prison by a Norwegian court for committing a sexual act without consent. The verdict was delivered on March 10, and the court also ordered Daga to pay 10,000 Norwegian kroner in legal costs.

His lawyer, Astrid Bolstad, expressed shock at the decision and insisted that Daga did nothing wrong, confirming plans to appeal the judgment. Following the ruling, Molde FK described the situation as difficult and announced that Daga would not be selected for matches while the legal process continues.

Daga joined Molde FK ahead of the 2025 season, having made 15 appearances and scored three goals. He previously played in the Nigeria Premier Football League for Enyimba FC and Dakkada FC and represented Nigeria at the U-20 level during the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
