MSF Trains 200 AIF Staff on Noma Prevention in Sokoto

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) conducted a training program for 200 staff members, community engagers, and volunteers of the ASATTAHIR International Foundation (AIF) focused on the prevention, early detection, and referral of Noma cases in Sokoto State. This two-day training took place from September 22 to 23, 2026, in Sokoto and was organized by MSF's Health Promotion Unit for AIF personnel working in Sokoto North, Sokoto South, and Wamakko Local Government Areas.

Florencia Maghanga, MSF Medical Team Lead in Sokoto, praised AIF for its role in identifying and referring suspected Noma cases to the Noma Children Hospital, emphasizing the importance of early detection to prevent disease progression. Rufus Yagkong, AIF's Head of Programmes and Research, expressed gratitude to MSF for enhancing the capacity of AIF staff and volunteers, stating that the training would improve their ability to contribute to Noma prevention and ensure timely attention for suspected cases.

AIF plans to integrate Noma prevention into its existing programs across Sokoto State.
