Ogun Muslim Women Launch Forum to Combat Social Vices

The Egba Muslim Women Forum was inaugurated in Abeokuta, Ogun State, to address rising social vices such as drug abuse, cybercrime, and cultism. The initiative, launched at its maiden summit, gathered religious leaders, professionals, and women from various Muslim organizations.

Ogun State Deputy Governor, Mrs Noimot Salako-Oyedele, described the forum as a significant initiative for collaboration among Muslim women, urging them to unite despite organizational differences. She expressed hope that the forum would inspire similar initiatives across Ogun State and Nigeria.

Keynote speaker, Mrs Ibrahim Rasheedah, emphasized the need for Muslim women to unite on community issues. Mrs Yemi Kolapo, the Muslim Women Leader of Egbaland, stated that the forum represents a movement focused on empowering women and strengthening families.

She highlighted the pressures of social media and economic hardship on families, urging women to raise children with strong moral values. The forum aims to complement government programs through community development and family support.
