NAOWA, Ocean Wave Group Empower 100 Women in Edo

The Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association (NAOWA), 4 Brigade Chapter, in collaboration with the Ocean Wave Group, inaugurated a two-month skills acquisition program on July 13, 2026, aimed at empowering 100 women and youths in the Ekehuan Military Cantonment, Benin City, Edo State. The program, launched at the NAOWA Skills Acquisition Centre, focuses on providing practical vocational skills to promote self-employment and entrepreneurship.

Mr. Peter Omoh Dunia, President of Ocean Wave Group, represented by Hon.

Abibat Yakubu, outlined that the training covers seven vocational areas: Advanced Tailoring and Crafts, Catering, Hairdressing, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Photography and Videography, Event Decoration, and Cosmetology. Mrs.

Mariam Aina Balogun, Zonal Coordinator of NAOWA 4 Brigade Chapter, emphasized the importance of the initiative for military families and encouraged participants to utilize their skills for business and community support. Brigadier General Ahmed Balogun, Commander of 4 Brigade Nigerian Army, praised the collaboration and urged beneficiaries to maximize the opportunity for economic improvement.
