Naval Base Oguta Offers Free Medical Outreach in Imo

On Thursday, the Naval Base Oguta, under the leadership of Commodore S.T. Lengaya, launched a free medical care and educational outreach program in the Izomb community of Imo State.

This initiative benefited no fewer than 500 residents, including students, youth, and elderly individuals. The outreach took place at the Izomb Commercial Secondary School, where participants received health lectures on issues such as drug abuse, hypertension management, and care for pregnant women.

Free drugs were distributed to beneficiaries, emphasizing the Nigerian Navy's commitment to strengthening civil-military relations. Madam Nnena Maduabuchi, a beneficiary, expressed gratitude towards the Nigerian Navy for their efforts and highlighted the positive impact of the outreach, stating that it alleviated fears associated with military presence in the community.

This event is part of the Nigerian Navy's broader strategy to enhance civil-military relations and improve security through non-kinetic approaches.
