NBCC's Olashore Advocates for Sustainable Energy Ecosystem

Mr. Abimbola Olashore, the President of the Nigerian-British Chamber of Commerce (NBCC), called for the establishment of an efficient, investable, innovative, and sustainable energy ecosystem to facilitate Nigeria's long-term economic transformation. This statement was made during the NBCC's inaugural power summit themed “Powering Nigeria’s Economic Transformation: Unlocking Investment, Innovation and Sustainable Energy Solutions.” Olashore highlighted that energy is crucial for modern economies, impacting businesses, industries, and national development.

He pointed out Nigeria's significant energy potential, including natural gas and renewable resources, but noted the challenge of converting this potential into reliable and affordable energy. He stressed that the power and energy sector offers opportunities for collaboration with the United Kingdom, which has expertise in energy transition, renewable energy, and infrastructure financing, while Nigeria presents substantial investment opportunities.
