CAN Chairman Praises Omolehin for IDP Support in Borno

Joseph Hayab, the chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Northern Nigeria, commended Rev Isaac Omolehin, founder of the World Assembly Ministries, for his financial support in erecting tents and toilets for internally displaced persons (IDPs) at the Shuwari camp in Maiduguri, Borno State. The camp primarily houses Christians from the Gwoza local government area and is owned by the Church of Brethren in Nigeria, known in Hausa as Ekklesiyar Yan’uwa a Nigeria (E.Y.N).

Following recent challenges, displaced families had to vacate their temporary accommodations despite the rainy season. Hayab informed Omolehin, who promptly provided funds to assist the IDPs.

Earlier this year, Omolehin also funded repairs of boreholes at the Jerusalem IDPs’ camp, restoring access to potable water. Hayab expressed gratitude for Omolehin's contributions, which have significantly alleviated the suffering of the displaced, and urged others to contribute to the welfare of vulnerable groups.
