NDC Aspirant Nwankwo Alleges Election Result Manipulation

Hon. Onu Igw Nwankwo, an aspirant for the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) primaries, has raised allegations of attempts to suppress and alter the results of the party's primary elections for the Ohanivo Federal Constituency seat.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Nwankwo called on party leadership to ensure transparency and adherence to due process following the primary elections held on May 29, 2026, across three local government areas: Ohaozara, Onicha, and Ivo. He described the election process as confusing and disruptive, noting that the results were not publicly announced after the exercise.

Nwankwo possesses video recordings and documents related to the election process, which he claims serve as evidence of the irregularities. He expressed concern over the failure to publicly declare the outcomes, warning that withholding results creates uncertainty and opens the door for potential manipulation.

Nwankwo urged the NDC's electoral appeal committee to ensure the authentic results are declared and called for a suspension of candidate submissions to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) until the genuine results are properly collated.
