NDC Criticizes FG Over Banditry Resurgence in Zamfara

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) expressed concern over the resurgence of banditry in Zamfara State, criticizing the Federal Government for inadequate protection of lives and property. In a statement issued on Thursday, the party's state chairman, Surajo Garba Maikatako, and public secretary, Murtala Gusau, commiserated with communities affected by recent attacks in the Zurmi, Maradun, and Anka local government areas.

They sympathized with the security agencies following the deaths of three police officers due to an explosion along the Bagega-Anka road. The NDC's statement underscored the persistent attacks as a reflection of leadership challenges and emphasized the need for improved security measures.

The party also referenced comments made by the state governor during a BBC interview, where he reportedly did not promise an end to insecurity during the election campaign. The NDC conveyed its condolences to the families of the deceased officers and called for enhanced efforts to combat insecurity in the region.
