NFF Appeals CAF's Ruling on Edo Queens' WAFU-B Final Win

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has filed an appeal against the Confederation of African Football's (CAF) decision to annul Edo Queens' victory over Ghana's Ampem Darkoa Ladies in the WAFU-B final. This appeal was submitted on Tuesday, challenging CAF's ruling that set aside Edo Queens' 4-1 penalty shoot-out win after the match ended 2-2 on September 5 in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.

CAF's decision followed a protest from Ampem Darkoa, stating that the match should have included two periods of extra time before penalties, as per Article 72.4 of the competition regulations. The NFF contends that Edo Queens should not be held accountable for the match officials' error, emphasizing that the players acted in good faith by following the referee's instructions.

The federation argues that there was no misconduct or manipulation by Edo Queens and questions CAF's authority to annul a completed penalty shoot-out. The NFF urges the CAF Appeals Committee to uphold the original outcome of the match.
