Nigeria's Economic Potential Highlighted at Rotary Event

The Jericho Business Club (JBC) hosted a reception in Ibadan to honor Rotarian Hakeem Babalola on his investiture as President of Rotary International. Stakeholders asserted that Babalola's emergence signifies Nigeria's potential to influence the global economy.

Chief Adebayo Oyero, the Aare Mayegun of Ibadanland, advocated for a comprehensive Ibadan Economic Agenda to accelerate the city's socio-economic growth. He emphasized the need for collaboration among individuals, professional bodies, and socio-cultural groups to support the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin's vision for economic revitalization.

Oyero urged the JBC to dedicate its next socio-economic summit to developing a 10-year economic blueprint for Ibadan. Engineer Tunji Gafaar, JBC President, described Babalola's appointment as a historic achievement that brings global recognition to Ibadan and Nigeria, noting he is only the second African to lead Rotary International.

Gafaar highlighted the importance of this achievement for Nigeria's potential on the world stage.
