Nigeria Wheelchair Basketball Team Heads to Commonwealth Qualifiers

The Nigeria Wheelchair Basketball team has officially departed from Luanda, Angola, in preparation for the Commonwealth Games qualifiers set to take place from March 22 to March 27, 2026. The eight-member team will compete against leading sides in a bid to secure qualification for the next Commonwealth Games.

Seyi Johnson, the President of the Nigeria Wheelchair Basketball Federation, expressed confidence in the team's ability to deliver strong performances. He noted that the athletes are well-prepared for the challenges ahead and possess the quality, resilience, and determination necessary to achieve the results needed for qualification.

Johnson emphasized the importance of this qualification platform as a demonstration of Nigeria's progress in wheelchair basketball and its broader commitment to the development and growth of parasports on the international stage.
